WTF Did I Miss?

This newsletter has been written, deleted, and re-written several times now, but at the end of the day there isn’t anything witty or funny to say, Zebu Live was just f***ing amazing.

It smashed expectations and blew everyone else's expectations out of the water that we spoke to. Yes, this writer did sneak in as an attendee, no staff badge for this intern, but I managed some free coffee and some tasty water. Who knew flavoured fizzy water was going to be a trend in 2024?

Anyway, less about me and more about Zebu.

But before we kick off, I’ve got a special limited ticket sale run for next year (2025) for you. So lock in early bird pricing now.

Psst… tickets are at £49 only, grab them now!

Day One Recap

We covered Day 1 in last weeks edition so this newsletter will be a whistle-stop tour of the ins and outs of Zebu Live touching on rather than diving in.

We started Zebu off with a bang, Garry Krugljakow, and Alexandra Maslova, showed us how Fashion Playbooks for Digital Product Passports are set to revolutionise the industry. Then, Robert McCracken and Kevin Blackburn took the stage with a deep dive into DeFi with their panel on ETFs Unleashed, showing us how decentralized finance might bridge the gap to traditional markets. And just when we thought it couldn’t get any more intense, Robby Young brought us back to the fun side of crypto, showing us that memecoins aren’t just moonshots - they’re staking a claim in the world of stakeholder capitalism.

Raoul Pal captured hearts and minds with his fire side chat on “How to position for the biggest macro-opportunity,”.

One of the key highlights of the day was Ben Putley from Alkimi, who schooled us all on the future of decentralised advertising. His talk on unlocking transparency in ads showed us exactly why Web3 platforms are set to outshine their Web2 counterparts. The Coinbase crew, including Elie Karskens, also left a mark with their fireside chat on market expansion and user acquisition, giving us all some major food for thought on how to scale Web3 adoption.

On the infrastructure side, Martin Masser kicked off the TON Hackers League, rallying developers to show their skills and participate in some epic challenges. It was a big day for the TON community, I even tried my hand at some paper airplane throwing to try and win some crash. I was told very firmly that I needed to stick to writing on paper not throwing it…

Day One closed with Ashton Barger hosting the Web3 is a Joke Crypto Roast, reminding us that while we take our space seriously, there’s always room for a good laugh.

We interrupt your viewing to tell you about how the Future is Now! Take it away Solana…

The Future is NOW

Solana was cooking in the bear market and has continued to lead the charge in the bull market. After an unbelievable Breakpoint and now a fantastic Zebu Live they are here to take over the UK with Superteam UK.

The Future is Solana

The Future is Now

Day Two at Zebu Live was nothing short of spectacular, delivering non-stop Web3 excitement, with some of the industry’s biggest names taking the stage. Whether you were geeking out over blockchain AI convergence or listening to Steven Bartlett drop knowledge bombs, we had it all.

I personally had an absolute blast walking around all the stands chatting with some truly amazing companies. Be that hardware wallets, new crypto banks that only launched a few weeks ago, or solutions to save the environment by using blockchain technology. It was a true celebration of all things crypto in the UK.

We began Day Two with James Davies and Glen Goodman who took us into the world of AI Trading, Spot Markets, and Derivatives.

Meanwhile, Arthur Fristov gave us insights into how consumer Web3 companies can scale from scratch - yes, even as a first-time founder.

Erin Wolfe and Olena Yara spearheaded a lively panel on Cultivating Community, reminding us that no project thrives without a tribe. Then, the big brains like Henry Hankin and Nick Harylnik showed us how blockchain and AI are set to collide and unlock a new era of innovation - this wasn’t your typical Web3 chat, it felt like we were sitting in the future.

I personally rounded off this jam-packed event by watching a back-to-back speaking dreamathone, listening to not only Dan Held talk Bitcoin DeFi but also Steven Bartlett chat about Web3, Founding Success, and Lessons from Top Innovators. Unbelievable.

Unfortunately, due to party rules, I cannot confirm or deny that the after-party was lit. No pictures were taken, no videos were rolled, no recollection is had…

Ok, it was AMAZING!!!

Lastly, we need to do a massive shout-out to Coinbase. Coinbase brought the heat to Zebu.

Headline Sponsor = Based Sponsor

The OGs of crypto, Coinbase, rolled in as the Title Sponsor for Zebu Live '24, and they blew us away. They’re not just trading crypto - they’re building the future of Web3.

Go check them out now!

That’s it for this week, Zebulls.

LFG!
