First Day Zebu Live: Where Are My Socks?

Wow where are my socks, that first day blew them clean off, I’ve been looking for them for hours.

We did promise a mind-blowing and sock-blowing experience but I didn’t think the marketing team was being serious. That was best thing I’ve seen

Zebu Live Day 1: From Memecoins to DAOs - Here’s What Went Down!

Wow, what a first day at Zebu Live! We kicked off the festivities and Web3 chaos with a full-on rollercoaster of sessions, panels, and workshops that hit harder than a memecoin moonshot 🚀. If you missed out (why?! I gave you so many ticket opportunities), here’s recap of what went down, (and yes, you should be jealous):

Fashion Forward into Web3

We hit the ground running, weaving the worlds of fashion and NFTs, with panels like “Fashion Playbook for Digital Product Passports” featuring Garry Krugljakow, Alexandra Maslova, Gerard Miquel Rocca, Victor Tamer, and Kasper Karimaa.

Later, we were treated to the futuristic “Digital Couture: The Future of Fashion and Beauty in an AI-Driven World” panel, where Sofia Polyakova, CutCircuit, Blake Lezenski, and Victor Tamer gave us a glimpse of what fashion looks like on-chain. Your wardrobe might be on-chain sooner than you think!

DAOs, Defi, and… More DAOs!

The DAO crew was out in full force, making us all feel like governance wizards. If you didn’t catch “Upgrading DAOs for Greater Web3 Adoption,” featuring Matthew Schutte, Laura Drnaldovask, Jack Gale, Sarojini McKenna, and Dr. Nick Almond, then you missed some serious alpha on how the future of organisations is getting decentralised.

Meanwhile, in the DeFi sphere, “ETFs Unleashed: Can They Bridge the Gap to a Decentralized Future?” had Robert McCracken, Kevin Blackburn, Rob Gaskell, Michela Silvestri, and Tim Bevan exploring how decentralised finance is catching up to traditional markets. And let’s not forget the serious side of memecoins (yes, they can be good for democracy—who knew?) with Robby Young and his keynote “Stakeholder Capitalism: Why Memecoins are Good for Democracy.”

TON Hackers Assemble!

TON brought the heat with their Hackers League kicking off Day 1. Martin Masser hosted a solid intro session, and then we saw workshops and technical sessions in full swing, giving developers a chance to flex their coding muscles. Day 1 might have wrapped, but the Hackathon continues tomorrow with workshops, mentoring, and that juicy $15K prize pool.

Ben Putley’s Advertising Wisdom

The brilliant Ben Putley took to the stage to drop some knowledge on “Unlocking the Power of Transparency in Advertising: Alkimi’s Approach”. He threw some serious shade at Web2 ad platforms, giving us all a new appreciation for decentralised advertising. No surprises here, Alkimi is proving that Web3 ads are the way forward.

Coffee Breaks and Chats

If you didn’t catch up with Elie Karskens and Cammolie Shumba in their fireside chat on “Growing the Web3 Ecosystem: Coinbase Insights on Market Expansion and User Acquisition,” you missed a serious learning session. And if you needed some afternoon chill, you could’ve sipped a delicious flat white while listening to Justin Baron talk about how “How Web3 and RWAs Unlock Exponential Wealth via a Computable Economy.”

GMs to GNs: Wrapping Up the Day

The day finished with Ben Putley (yes, he was on fire today!) alongside Rob Bradley and James Trott, talking about “The Future of Programmatic Advertising: Overcoming Barriers to Transparency with Web3 Technologies.” If that wasn’t mind-blowing enough, the evening brought a hilarious twist with the Zebu Live Comedy Roast, courtesy of Ashton Barger and crew, leaving us in stitches and tears (in the best way possible). A sewing kit for my sides was definitely needed by the end!

TL;DR Highlights:

Fashion x Web3 was a total hit. On-chain closets soon? We think so!

DAOs are officially the cool kids on the block, thanks to Matthew Schutte and team.

Memecoins might just be saving democracy (take it from Robby Young).

Ben Putley schooled us all on why decentralized ads are the future.

TON Hackers League went full beast mode with Martin Masser leading the charge.

We laughed harder than ever during the Zebu Comedy Roast.

What a Day 1, can’t wait for Day 2.
